Antioxidants we hear about and consume every day in some form or the other.

To understand antioxidants one has to understand oxidants. “Oxidants” are molecules of oxygen that have released or lost electrons for any reason. And binds with any molecule or absorbs its electrons. Due to which a new type of molecule is formed. And the molecule from which the electron has been absorbed supplies the electron from another molecule and this sequence continues. One of the main effects of oxidants is that they can generate free radicals. Free radicals are those that have extra electrons and can cause damage in the body, as they can affect a variety of functions inside cells. These same elements deactivate these molecules by giving or taking away extra electrons. substances called antioxidants

Therefore, it is important to control the effect of oxidants in our body. By including antioxidant-rich foods in your diet, you can protect your body from the negative effects of oxidation and lead a healthier life.



What happens due to oxidation _ In simple language, our atmosphere is full of oxygen and it is everywhere. Oxygen radicals are very reactive. And as soon as they get the opportunity, they start reacting with other elements. Which is called oxidation. You must have seen that when the apple is cut and kept, it gradually turns black. Means the oxygen present in the air starts forming oxide in the elements of apple and after some time the chopped apple is not suitable for eating.


Antioxidant elements are used to stop this process with the environment.
The packing of the finished product also prevents oxidation. But antioxidants are used with caution and for the safety of the product. Antioxidant elements are used in special liquid products and fat-rich products. The presence of food ingredients in a product can also alter the product. Antioxidants protect the product from spoilage even in the presence of those ingredients. Another fact is that antioxidants are often some vitamin or nutrient. Vitamin E and C are mostly used in fat related products like cosmetic cream or lotion, oil, ghee, butter etc.

Antioxidants are important for our body. That’s why vitamins and other nutrients should be used naturally as much as possible. Excess of these elements can also be harmful for the body. Nutrients in excess work to nourish those cells of the body as well. Which is not needed in the body. And many types of diseases arise.
