Till now no big company in India emphasizes on such products. Due to which even FSSAI does not take special interest in investigating such products. What precautions should be taken while sprouting grains and pulses at home.
(1) First wash the grains and pulses and keep them in clean water in an airtight vessel for 3-4 hours. Grains or pulses should never be soaked in an open vessel.
(2) Use clean cloth for germination. Also clean the sprout maker thoroughly and keep it dry when not in use.
(3) If mold appears during germination, do not use the sprouted item.
(4) Wash sprouted grains in hot water before use.
(5) Sprouted grains should not be kept in the refrigerator for a long time. Use only fresh sprouted grains.
